Bartholomeus Breenbergh (Deventer 1598 - Amsterdam 1657)
He was a Dutch painter, engraver and draftsman in the golden age. He lived for many years in Rome, his works of that period consisted of a series of Italian landscapes. Those painted on his return to Amsterdam, composed of more severe and monumental landscapes, often historical subjects, strongly influenced by the Pre-Rembrandtists.
